Tuesdays: Should You Try Them?

Alessandro Pioltelli ’26

As we all know by now, Tuesday has become one of the hottest new things to hit the shelves. Though videos of people trying Tuesdays and loving them have gone viral across the internet, some experts in the field have raised concerns that this exciting new product may overshadow the others in the now iconic Days Of The Week™ collection. I’m here today to try Tuesdays out to see if they’re really worth your time.

I started my day like any other, getting out of bed and eating breakfast. The first thing I noticed was that Tuesdays seemed to be brighter than some other days, like a Thursday or Monday. Because many of our readers have become accustomed to beautifully bright Sundays and Saturdays, new Tuesday adopters may experience turbulence when acclimating to this new reality.

I was particularly excited for the next portion of Tuesday–breakfast. For weeks it has been lauded online by many social media stars as being one of the preeminent, if not the best, Days Of The Week™ breakfasts. Yet, I have to say, it wasn’t anything to write home about. Who drinks coffee, especially in the morning? Serving bagels for breakfast was also an odd choice; bagels are very clearly not a breakfast food and never will be. And with eggs inside? Just so weird. If I wanted an ok breakfast, I’d try my hand at a Monday, and this wasn’t even that.

After breakfast, I decided to try another widely debated aspect of Tuesday–the commute. Though I’ve heard mixed opinions about travel on Tuesdays, I know the Subway is famous for its high quality transportation, so I was confused at the complaints. Having traveled on Tuesday, however, I’m sorry to say that the commute was a disappointment. It was very busy–I could barely move around in the train car, which I found very frustrating. If this is a sign of times to come for Days Of The Week™ commuting, I’m sorry to report that consumers are in for hours of annoyance, delays, and train cancellations. Why choose a Tuesday when you can avoid a commute altogether with a Saturday?

Though my hope was wavering I still had much of the day left, including lots of work to do. I’m happy to report that, as a student, Tuesdays are great. First period started off a bit jankily, as I felt tired and didn’t want to be there, but, as my tiredness began to wear off, I started to feel far better. My exhaustion was novel–I’m sure none of us have experienced it before–and I was shocked to be tired in the morning. As my day continued I began to feel hungry, which, as a teenager, typically never happens. The lunch on Tuesday was shockingly deluxe: pizza from a local place down the street. Eagerly taking a bite, I began to understand why only a select few can afford to eat such a fine delicacy for lunch. It was absolutely delicious. I’m surprised more people didn’t discuss this delicious aspect of Tuesday in their reviews.

The rest of the day was pretty satisfactory, though the last period was very slow. I love it when the last period of the day is drawn out because it gives me more time to enjoy school and not have to go back home…going home after a school day is so mundane and boring after all!

The last aspects of Tuesday to discuss are dinner and sleep. The dinner was pretty good; It was a Japanese food known as “Sooshi,” which I’m told is quite popular. Made of raw fish, seaweed, and rice, it provided a unique flavor and texture that many who haven’t yet tried Tuesdays may be unfamiliar with. After dinner, I was eager to go to sleep to see how Tuesday’s slumber would compare to other days’. Usually going to sleep is an annoying necessity that nobody enjoys, bearable only because we get to wake up early, but for once I found it soothing. It’s hard to describe: I felt completely at ease, going so far as to dread getting up the next morning. What a surprise!

After reading this review of my full Tuesday experience, you’re probably wondering about my final thoughts, thinking “should I try it out for myself?” From this reviewer, the answer is a resounding yes. Although it may start off a bit rough for most people, the afternoon is excellent and the evening will have you feeling ready for bedtime. Tuesday will definitely take some time getting used to, but I think it’s a solid day of the week and a good fit for everyone’s schedule. I’d give Tuesday a solid 8.4/10.
